Eater’s Anonymous
In a series of hyperreal paintings that explore digital phenomena, Julmice examines the symbolic and literal role of food as a life force. This series serves as an intimate reflection on the artist’s relationship with food and the act of consumption. Confronting the notion of nourishment as a public spectacle, Julmice delves into the internet's fascination with Mukbangs and competitive eating, tapping into the allure of viral content that turns the mundane into spectacle. Through this work, she critiques how digital platforms transform daily rituals into performative acts, questioning the boundaries between sustenance, entertainment, and digital voyeurism.
