Parasocial

Parasocial is a collection of artworks exploring internet phenomena and tech ethics, including doxxing, parasocial relationships, surveillance, and feminine identity. Centering on the female figure, the series examines the complexities of individual online presence and the fraught dynamics of how women are represented in digital spaces. Through an in-depth look at the often-unwelcoming nature of fandom communities, social media platforms, and internet forums, Julmice personifies the impact of an internet built on racially and gender-biased foundations. Her work reflects the unique challenges women face online, as they navigate both visibility in an environment and vulnerability shaped by historical prejudices.
